The Faces of Act of War

I’m working on putting together a collection of photos of the people who play here for old times sake.  We’ve had them before on some of the older websites but they’ve been lost to time.

If you’d like to contribute a photo feel free to post it up in the forum HERE!  If you don’t feel like starting an account on the forum you’re welcome to facebook it to our Facebook page or email it to me.

We have a great community here and many of us have gone out of our way to attend “reunions”, grab a few beers, and generally get to know each other.

Current photos are posted up at http://www.actofwar.com/photos

Code Changes

  • Topplayers is now persistent through reboot/crash.  If you’re in 1st place, you’ll stay in 1st place until someone picks up more warpoints.  If you are not currently on the toplist you’ll need to nab a kill before you show up regardless of how many warpoints you have.

1/6/2013 – Chapter 4 Launch Information

Things are changing with the introduction of Chapter 4.  Some things are staying the same.  I wanted to take a moment to give a quick rundown of things that might be different right off the bat – and might really make you wonder what is going on.  We really stripped the map of a lot of zones – this is to serve two purposes.  We want to help concentrate players in a smaller area and we want to ensure that everything gets balanced out appropriately.  This means there have been sweeping changes to equipment map wide, mobs have been tweaked, and zones have been removed.  Some of these zones will make a reappearance and some of them will not.  Additionally, I have roughly 20 zones in reserve that we’re working on balancing right now that we’ll likely drop in as time progresses.

With the launch of a new chapter code and area changes are going to be handled differently.  Instead of changes being made and a reboot happening it will be more common to see things hold off and for a set of changes to occur at once, whether it’s the addition of new classes, new zones, or feature additions.  Hotfixes will continue to happen as bugs need to be addressed and corrected and will happen very quickly.

The World Shudders

The forces of Undermountain chanted and sought to bring the wrath of the gods down on the world.  They erected tribute piles of bleached enemy skulls to the gods and sacrificed their captured enemies to let the world drink in the blood.  It corrupted the soil, the forests, and the air.  Eventually, even the lesser gods were not immune and became tainted with the Mother Matrons magic.

A gods battled among themselves as the forces of Tier, Kael, and Undermountain continued to spill blood and the world was torn asunder.  Mighty earth quakes ravaged the lands and sections of the world disappeared forever while long lost temples, forests, and cities emerged from the fog.
